Autumn Ramp Park in Joplin, MO had the privilege of hosting the AST Free Flow Tour BMX contest on Sunday July 15. The BMX crowd started showing up the week before the event these guys were in “training” mode as they searched for new lines through the park.
We had a total of 23 riders enter the Free Flow open class all hungry for their shot at the Free Flow Finals in Orlando. Dennis McCoy was on hand to help officiate the contest; he and the other judges had their work cut out. The contest started with 3 man 5 minute jams. When the dust settled 10 riders went on to the finals and were given 1 minute to put together a solid run that would prove to the judges that they deserved to go to Orlando. During the final runs it became very evident who the top 3 were going to be. With flairs, double whips, 360 variations, and all the flowing style that you could handle these guys battled it out. When it was all said and done 3rd place went to Joplin’s Jeff Sadler, although he put together some great riding he just couldn’t top Brock Wormington. Brock took 2nd place and represented Monett, MO well with tailwhips all over the park and amazing gaps. Although the Missouri locals threw down some amazing riding they couldn’t beat Memphis’ Ricky Moseley. Ricky took home first place and a spot in the Free Flow Finals with dialed riding and consistency. A well deserved win goes to 17 year old Ricky Moseley, congratulations!
A big thank you needs to go out to all of the riders and fans that came to Joplin to make the Free Flow tour a great event for everyone, and a huge thank you to everyone at Free Flow for picking Autumn as one of the stops for the 2007 tour.
